DO I NEED A REFERRAL TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?

Medicare provides you with a rebate for Dr Teh’s specialist services if you have a GP referral. Having a referral will ensure that your family doctor is aware of your appointment. Overseas patients or those patients without access to Medicare may not require a referral. If you have a query regarding whether a referral is required please contact us on 1300 926 834.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME WHEN I COME AN APPOINTMENT WITH DR TEH?
  • A referral from your General Practitioner or family doctor
  • All test results from your referring doctor e.g blood tests, ultrasound etc.
  • A list of all medications that you are currently taking
  • Any operation report or relevant specialist correspondence
  • Medicare card and private hospital insurance information (if applicable)
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING FIRST VISIT?

First consultation will take about 30 minutes. Please arrive 10 minutes early for registration. A thorough history will be taken from you and your partner (if applicable), your test results will also be reviewed. If necessary, Dr Teh will also perform an examination and/or ultrasound.

I AM COMING TO SEE DR TEH FOR FERTILITY. DOES MY PARTNER NEED TO COME? DOES HE/SHE NEED A REFERRAL?

Yes, Dr Teh would like to see you and your partner together if possible. Your partner will be bulk billed for his/her meeting if he/she has a referral letter (single letter with both yours and your partner’s name on it is acceptable).

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T SPEAK FLUENT ENGLISH?

Dr Teh consults in both English and Mandarin. However, she welcomes all patients from differing ethnic backgrounds. Please notify the reception while booking an appointment if you require interpreting service, the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National) will be prebooked for the consultation.
